Wendy Glasper – the multi award winning champion of VI tennis – is back in Blackpool on Saturday (Jan 12) with more coaching sessions with Pete Hamadi, resident coach of South Shore Lawn Tennis Club.
Several N-Vision service users mustered the nerve to try VI tennis last summer and thoroughly enjoyed it – and were keen for a return match. Others couldn’t make the date – during the Lights season – so if you or someone close to you, blind or visually impaired, is interested in playing tennis, this is for you.
While the event isn’t organised by N-Vision, Wendy has asked the charity to help get the word out in the hope that more lessons will be organised if there’s sufficient demand.
The indoor court will be available with short nets used for easier clearance while players get the hang of the sport. It’s already taken off in other parts of the country especially in Wendy’s native North East.
Equipment will be provided but bring your own sports kit (shorts, track suit bottoms, leggings, t shirt and top, whatever, and NON-marking trainers).
You will be able to take time out in the club house bar after, chill out and talk tennis.
The club is at Midgeland Road, Marton, FY4 5HJ.
If you’re interested in coming to the session and need more information Wendy suggests you contact coach Pete : 07825215263
