Local organisations have been invited sign up for low-cost training to boost their sight loss understanding, response and accessibility.
N-Vision is providing this insightful training not just for compliance reasons, but also to underpin performance and profitability. Tourism organisations on the Fylde Coast must be especially aware of visual impairments to remain competitive.
That’s because one in five people in the UK will experience sight loss in their lifetime, and the number of people with visual impairments is set to double by 2050.
There’s a pervasive myth that sight loss or blindness means guide dogs and white canes. Of all the people registered as blind or partially sighted, only 7% have no vision. There are many types and degrees of visual impairment, and understanding this is crucial to customer service and experience.
For a short time only, we are offering organisations places on our Sight Loss Awareness Training courses for a much-reduced rate. This full day course – with lunch included – can be booked for just £25 per delegate.
Delegates will use AR tech that simulates up to 20 different types of sight loss, to better understand the emotional and practical issues. They will also receive coaching in nationally-recognised techniques such as Guided Walking.
Organisations will learn about zero-cost adjustments that ensure they are more accessible and inclusive.
The training takes place at our innovative Low Vision Centre at Squires Gate in Blackpool. There are currently places available on courses:
- 26th March
- 8th April
- 9th April
